Our Year 2 Integrated Programme is designed to build on foundational knowledge while fostering critical thinking, problem-solving, and analytical skills. Through exposure to a variety of challenging concepts and real-world scenarios, students will develop a deeper understanding of key topics and learn to approach problems from multiple perspectives. Interactive lessons, hands-on activities, and targeted assessment preparation ensure that students are well-equipped to excel in school assessments and beyond. With a comprehensive curriculum, we help students grow in confidence and competence as they progress in their academic journey.
English
Lesson Duration: 2 hrs
Class Size: 13 students
In the second year of their IP journey, students will build on the foundational skills from Year 1 and develop skills to read and write more critically. Such critical thinking skills will be developed through skills-based lessons and contextual learning using a variety of text types (from visual to audio, to other world-class content from world renowned publications). Such exposure will help students develop conceptual understanding of the world around them.
Using this set of new-found skills on critical thinking, students will be able to take on the lens of various stakeholders when articulating their ideas in class.

Content Mastery
Students in the Year 2 Integrated Programme will:
- understand and unpack writers’ intended meaning or messaging through exposure to world-renowned publications
- approach passages by exploring critical thinking questions and other media to gain deeper contextual understanding before tackling the passages
- be exposed to situational texts that relate to real life such as feature articles, proposals and speeches to help convey a point of view with conviction and facts
- explore critical thinking passages that help build on general knowledge while understanding various perspectives
This comprehensive approach aims to help students gain a global perspective, enhance their general knowledge, and improve their competence in tackling school assessments.
Skills and Techniques
The skills and techniques taught will help students to:
- engage in robust discussions that also foster their critical thinking skills
- present their ideas in a fluent and persuasive manner for oral presentations
- improve comprehension skills by applying close reading strategies and making sound inferences on authorial intent
- bolster their essays with descriptive language and construct cogent responses to fulfil question requirements for writing
- tackle complex passages that require critical thinking skills
Mathematics
Lesson Duration: 2 hrs
Class Size: 13 students
Our Year 2 IP Mathematics programme builds on and further develops existing knowledge and skills, enabling students to tackle complex word problems with confidence. We delve deeper into mathematical concepts, providing a comprehensive understanding that prepares students for the rigour of upper secondary levels. Through targeted assessment preparation, we equip students with the tools to excel in examinations while developing their critical thinking and problem-solving skills.

Content Mastery
At this level, students will discover trigonometric ratios in right-angled triangles, the properties of similar and congruent figures, and the formulae to calculate the volume and surface area of a sphere, a cone, and a pyramid. They will acquire new skills in algebraic manipulations to solve word problems involving quadratic equations and grasp the basic rules of probability.
Skills and Techniques
As students learn to manipulate more complex algebraic expressions, they also acquire analytical skills that allow them to make inferences, draw logical conclusions and evaluate solutions with real-world context questions. With that, they can analyse data from different statistical diagrams and make logical interpretations using mean, mode and median.
Science
Lesson Duration: 2 hrs
Class Size: 13 students
Our Year 2 IP Science programme builds on existing knowledge to introduce more complex scientific concepts in the disciplines of Biology, Chemistry and Physics. We use interactive lesson approaches and hands-on experiments to establish a solid foundation for each topic and challenge students with application-based questions that promote higher-order thinking. This approach ensures comprehensive coverage of the school curriculum, enhances understanding, and links scientific principles to real-world scenarios, thus effectively preparing students for future academic success.
**We also offer classes for specific IP schools to ensure alignment with students' curriculum:

Content Mastery
Students will delve deeper into the scientific concepts in Biology, Chemistry and Physics, featuring topics like Human Sexual Reproductive System, Chemical Changes and Thermal Processes.
Skills and Techniques
Students will develop the requisite skills to process and analyse data presented in tables and graphs. They will also practise questions on interrelated topics to integrate scientific concepts. As students refine their answering techniques involving data analysis, experiment-based questions and application questions, they can apply them to complex concepts such as the functions of series and parallel electrical circuits or the phases in a menstrual cycle.
Hear What They Say About TLL
Because the difference we make is why we do what we do.
Denise Lai
"A determined and kind teacher who never gave up on her students, Ms Shu truly inspired me and all my classmates to work harder and never give up. Without any expectation of recognition, Ms Shu has been our light when we were shrouded in darkness.
I can confidently say that Ms Shu is definitely the best teacher that I have ever met, and I believe that most of my success can be credited to her and TLL.
Once again, I would like to express my gratitude to TLL and my teachers for never giving up on me. Without them, I would never dare to dream of where I am today, and I would never have achieved the results I have today."

"Both my children look forward to their Learning Lab lessons every week. They enjoy the open communication their teachers instill within the classroom by encouraging students to participate actively on topic discussions. Often, they are excited to share the things they have learned from their lessons! The Learning Lab experience provides a cutting edge to my sons’ learning journeys by developing their ability to think critically and deeply about issues around them."
