Power Your Learning with Strategic Planning
With a two-year runway to the A-Level examinations, students in the junior college programmes have to hit the ground running the moment they enter year 1. Our Junior College 1 programmes will hone key learning skills and impart useful study strategies so students can elevate their writing for General Paper (GP) and improve their critical thinking to solve H2 Maths problems.
General Paper
Lesson Duration: 2 hrs
Class Size: 13 students
General Paper is a new A-Level exam syllabus that challenges students to think critically about a wide range of contemporary issues, from politics and economics to science and culture. Through structured lessons, interactive discussions and diverse reading materials, our Junior College 1 General Paper programme will help students develop strong analytical and writing skills to construct well-reasoned arguments, evaluate different perspectives and express their ideas clearly and persuasively.

Content Mastery
Students will learn the essential requirements of the General Paper components, which include Argumentative Writing, Comprehension, Summary and Application Question. Students will also receive comprehensive content packs with texts covering broad topics relating to general knowledge and current affairs, such as Technology and Science, Environment and Education, to help them build content knowledge to substantiate their writing.
Skills and Techniques
Through this programme, students will hone critical reasoning and writing skills to express their ideas clearly and convincingly. They will first learn to analyse and identify different essay and comprehension question types to employ appropriate answering strategies to fulfil question requirements. They will also practise writing with coherence, balance and precision to showcase depth of thought and analysis, as they apply suitable content knowledge, including facts, examples and figures, to support their arguments.
H2 Mathematics
Lesson Duration: 2 hrs
Class Size: 13 students
Our Junior College 1 H2 Mathematics programme provides ample support for our students to adjust to the intensity of pre-tertiary level mathematics. Our curriculum will enhance their problem-solving abilities and analytical thinking through rigorous practice and complex problem sets so students can map their mathematical knowledge across different topics for effective application in real-world contexts.

Content Mastery
Students will learn new topics on Sequences and Series, 3D Vectors, Functions and Maclaurin Series, as our teachers offer clear, detailed explanations and personalised support to help students grasp difficult concepts. They can also master new concepts for Differentiation, Vectors and Integration by building on the mathematical knowledge acquired at the secondary level. Our interactive lessons and collaborative discussions will encourage active participation and peer learning among students.
Skills and Techniques
Students will learn to identify topics covered by each question and strategically integrate different mathematical concepts clearly into the answer. They will also master using the Graphic Calculator (GC) to solve questions, check answers and plot the relevant graphs relating to maths content. They will fine-tune their exam-based skills such as time management and logical checking of answers to meet the demands of higher-level mathematics.
Hear What They Say About TLL
Because the difference we make is why we do what we do.
Denise Lai
"A determined and kind teacher who never gave up on her students, Ms Shu truly inspired me and all my classmates to work harder and never give up. Without any expectation of recognition, Ms Shu has been our light when we were shrouded in darkness.
I can confidently say that Ms Shu is definitely the best teacher that I have ever met, and I believe that most of my success can be credited to her and TLL.
Once again, I would like to express my gratitude to TLL and my teachers for never giving up on me. Without them, I would never dare to dream of where I am today, and I would never have achieved the results I have today."
Serene Peh
"I remember my first lesson with TLL.
I really loved the lesson; it was engaging and interesting. In every lesson there’s something new and my teacher used to draw things to help us understand difficult concepts more easily.
I always felt that I was learning a lot and it made me curious to keep finding out more."
